  • About The Role

  • If you care about people having a safe place to call home, and you know how to lead a team that makes that happen, this could be the next move for you. We are recruiting for a Housing Team Lead to join our Short Term Housing programme in Glasgow. We provide tenancy sustainment support to people who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless.

Right There has spent 200 years making sure that fewer people in Scotland end up homeless and fewer families fall apart. Last year alone, almost 4,000 people got the support they needed to stay in their homes and stay close to the people they love.

This role is about making sure people are not just allocated a property, but supported to sustain a home. The details matter: the referral, the match, the relationship with the landlord, the support plan, the risk assessment, the follow-up. Done well, this work helps people stay safe, settled and connected.

    Your Role

    • Leading the team well. You will support, coach and guide Tenant Liaison Workers so they can deliver consistent, high-quality support and contribute to the annual business plan for the programme.
    • Preparing for growth. As part of the Housing Management Team, you will help prepare for and support the implementation of programme growth, making sure the service is ready to respond well as demand and opportunity develop.
    • Getting people matched to the right home. You will make sure referrals are assessed properly, progressed quickly and aligned with the service specification, so people are matched with the right property and the right support.
    • Keeping homes occupied and working well. You will help manage allocations, voids and tenancy sustainment so properties are used well and people get the support they need to stay safe and settled.
    • Building trusted relationships. You will work closely with tenants, landlords, agents, local authority teams, support providers, health services and colleagues across Right There, including our Property Team.
    • Making the practical things happen. You will help coordinate property access for compliance, repairs and inspections, working with landlords, agents, contractors and colleagues to keep things moving.
    • Managing risk and quality. You will make sure risk assessments, contractual obligations and tenancy sustainment arrangements are live, accurate and meaningful, and that the individual needs of the people we support are properly understood and met.

    What you bring

Maybe you have built your experience in housing, tenancy sustainment, advice, support work or community services. Maybe you are already leading a team, or ready to take the next step into a role where your judgement, empathy and organisation really matter. Either way, you’ll recognise yourself here.

    • You are calm, organised and able to make good decisions when things are moving quickly.
    • You have the skills and/or experience to lead and support a team, hold standards and bring people with you.
    • You can build relationships with tenants, landlords, colleagues and partners that are clear, respectful and practical.
    • You genuinely care about homelessness, and about people getting a fair chance to have a safe place to call home.

You do not need to have followed one fixed route into this role. Experience in housing, support, advice, customer-facing services, staff supervision or partnership working could all be relevant.

    Our Offer

    • The post holder will report to the Housing Services Manager.
    • Your normal working hours are 35 per week, worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm, depending on the needs of the service, with 1-hour unpaid break.
    • Your usual place of work is Rosemount Business Park, 141-145 Charles Street, Unit E3, Glasgow, G21 2QA. You are also required to work in the local community and you will be paid travel expenses from your usual place of work for appointments undertaken in the course of your duties.
    • Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second. This includes public holidays
    • You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
    • Cycle to Work scheme
    • Option to purchase and sell annual leave
