We are recruiting for the newly created post of Supervising Counsellor to supervise students on placement and carry a small client caseload.
 
Our new Right There Counselling Academy will extend student placement counselling to Young People (12+) and adults. The is a development role, working closely with the Head of Children and Families and partner universities to embed this exciting new service.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
    -  Provide 1:1 and group supervision for postgraduate student counsellors
 
    - Oversee supervisee casework to ensure safe, ethical and effective practise
 
    - Hold a small counselling caseload, offering person-centred support for young people (12+) and adults
 
    - Complete assessments, formulations, and risk management plans
 
    - Ensure compliance with BACP, HCPC and organisation ethical frameworks
 
    - Take a lead for child and adult protection for placement students

You will have attained Diploma Level 6 or above in counselling, psychotherapy, or arts/play therapy. You will also have current membership/registration with BACP, HCPC or equivalent, have completed or be undertaking a recognised supervision training course which will be complemented with extensive proven post qualification counselling experience. 
If you are passionate about developing counselling practice, are experienced in trauma informed approaches and you have experience of working with a range of needs across young people and adults, we'd love to hear from you. 
It is expected that this role will be office based for a minimum of 3 days per week. 
 
What you can expect from us.. 
    - You will report to the Head of Children and Families
 
    - Your normal working hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with 1-hour unpaid break
 
    - Your usual place of work is 15 Dava Street, Glasgow, G51 2JA with travel across hub locations
 
    - Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second.
 
    - You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension in the month that you will complete 3-months of employment, provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
